Zoho CRM Phone & VoIP Integration
Connect your phone system to Zoho CRM so calls log themselves. Click-to-dial from any module, screen pop on inbound calls, and a Call activity written against the right record every time.
The Salamtalk Zoho CRM integration is a native CTI connector that links your cloud phone system to Zoho CRM over OAuth 2.0 — inbound calls open the matching Lead or Contact, outbound calls place in one click, and completed calls write a Call activity to the record without manual entry.
What does the Zoho CRM integration do?
Six capabilities cover most of the day-to-day value, all on the standard connector without custom development.
| Capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Click-to-dial from any module | Place calls directly from Leads, Contacts, Accounts and Deals. The call routes through Salamtalk without the rep leaving Zoho. |
| Screen pop on inbound calls | Inbound caller ID is matched against Zoho records and the matching Lead or Contact opens before the rep picks up. |
| Automatic call logging | Completed calls write a Call activity against the record with direction, duration, outcome and owner — no manual entry. |
| Recordings attached to the record | Where recording is enabled, the call audio attaches to the logged activity so it is retrievable from the record itself. |
| Lead and contact sync | Records created in either system appear in the other, and number updates propagate so caller-ID matching stays accurate. |
| Workflow and blueprint triggers | Call events can feed Zoho workflow rules — create a follow-up task after a missed call, or notify an owner on an inbound VIP call. |
How do I set up the Zoho phone integration?
Connection is an OAuth authorization from the Salamtalk admin panel using a Zoho account with the relevant module permissions. You then scope the integration to specific users and map call outcomes to Zoho call dispositions.
Do one thing before you connect: normalize stored phone numbers to E.164 format. Inconsistent formatting is the single largest cause of calls failing to match a record, and it is much easier to fix before the integration starts writing data. Our CRM integration playbook covers the full rollout order, including piloting with one team first.
What does it cost?
The integration is included with Salamtalk plans at $15, $25 and $40 per user per month, with a 14-day free trial. Calls place through Salamtalk rather than through Zoho telephony credits, so minutes are not billed twice.
Where this integration has limits
Stated plainly: calls from withheld or unrecognized numbers cannot be matched to a record and will log unlinked. Duplicate records in Zoho produce ambiguous matches, so matching is only as reliable as your data hygiene. And the native connector targets Zoho CRM — other Zoho products need the API or webhooks rather than the built-in screen pop.
For logic the connector does not cover, the REST API handles custom cases. See all integrations for the wider catalog, the HubSpot integration if you run both, or connecting your CRM to your phone system for the underlying concepts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect Salamtalk to Zoho CRM?
The connection is authorized over OAuth 2.0 from the Salamtalk admin panel using a Zoho account with the relevant module permissions. You then scope which users are included and map call outcomes to Zoho call dispositions. No middleware or custom development is required.
Does it log calls to Zoho automatically?
Yes. Each completed call writes a Call activity to the matching Lead, Contact, Account or Deal with direction, duration, outcome and the owning user. Recordings attach to that activity where call recording is enabled for the user or queue.
Why do some calls not match a Zoho record?
The usual cause is inconsistent phone number formatting across records. Normalizing stored numbers to E.164 format before connecting resolves most match failures. Calls from withheld numbers cannot be matched and will log without a linked record.
Which Zoho products does this cover?
The integration targets Zoho CRM. Other Zoho applications such as Desk can receive call data through the REST API or webhooks, but the native connector and its screen pop and activity logging are built against Zoho CRM specifically.
Do I need a Zoho telephony licence as well?
No. Calls place and receive through Salamtalk on your Salamtalk plan at $15, $25 or $40 per user per month. Zoho is the system of record for activity, not the calling provider, so you are not paying for minutes in two places.
Can I limit which users or data are synced?
Yes. The integration is scoped per user so you can pilot with a single team first. Recording attachment can be disabled separately if your data-handling policy requires call audio to remain within Salamtalk.
