HubSpot Phone & VoIP Integration
Connect your phone system to HubSpot so calls log themselves. Click-to-dial from any record, screen pop on inbound calls, and every conversation written to the timeline automatically.
The Salamtalk HubSpot integration is a native CTI connector that links your cloud phone system to your HubSpot CRM over OAuth 2.0 — so inbound calls open the matching record, outbound calls place in one click, and every call writes an engagement to the contact timeline without anyone typing it in.
What does the HubSpot integration do?
Six capabilities cover most of the day-to-day value. All of them run on the standard connector; none require custom development.
| Capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Click-to-dial from any record | Dial directly from a contact, company or deal record. The call places through Salamtalk and the rep never copies a number by hand. |
| Screen pop on inbound calls | An incoming call matches the caller ID against HubSpot contacts and opens the record before the rep answers, so the account history is already on screen. |
| Automatic call logging | Every call writes an engagement to the HubSpot timeline with direction, duration, outcome and the owning rep. No manual activity entry. |
| Recordings and AI summaries on the timeline | Call recordings attach to the engagement. Where AI call summaries are enabled, the transcript summary is written to the record too. |
| Two-way contact sync | New contacts created in either system appear in the other. Number changes propagate, so caller-ID matching keeps working over time. |
| Workflow triggers | Call events can trigger HubSpot workflows — route a follow-up task after a missed call, or alert an owner when a VIP account rings in. |
How do I set up the HubSpot phone integration?
Connection is an OAuth authorization from the Salamtalk admin panel — you grant access with a HubSpot account that holds the right permissions, scope the integration to the users you want, and map call outcomes to HubSpot engagement types.
Do one thing before you connect: normalize your stored phone numbers to E.164 format. Inconsistent number formatting is the single largest cause of calls failing to match a contact, and it is far easier to fix before the integration is writing data than after. Our CRM integration playbook covers the full rollout sequence, including how to pilot with one team first.
What does it cost?
The integration is included with Salamtalk plans at $15, $25 and $40 per user per month, with a 14-day free trial. Because calls place through Salamtalk rather than through HubSpot, you are not buying calling minutes twice. Note that HubSpot workflow automation availability depends on your own HubSpot tier, which is outside our pricing.
Where this integration has limits
Worth stating plainly. Calls from withheld or unknown numbers cannot be matched to a contact — they log, but without a linked record. Matching is only as good as your data hygiene, so duplicate contacts in HubSpot will produce ambiguous matches. And call-triggered workflows depend on HubSpot features that vary by subscription tier.
If you need logic the native connector does not cover, the REST API handles custom cases. See all integrations for the wider catalog, or connecting your CRM to your phone system for the concepts behind CTI.
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect Salamtalk to HubSpot?
The integration connects over OAuth 2.0 from the Salamtalk admin panel. You authorize the connection with a HubSpot account that has the relevant permissions, choose which users are in scope, and map call outcomes to HubSpot engagement types. No custom code or middleware is required.
Does the HubSpot integration log calls automatically?
Yes. Completed calls write an engagement to the matching contact, company or deal timeline, including direction, duration, outcome and the owning rep. Recordings attach to the engagement where recording is enabled for that user or queue.
Why do some calls not match a HubSpot contact?
Caller-ID matching fails most often because of inconsistent number formatting. Normalize stored numbers to E.164 format before connecting the integration — this single step resolves the majority of match failures. Numbers withheld by the caller cannot be matched at all, and those calls log without a linked record.
Which HubSpot plans does this work with?
Call engagement logging and the contact timeline are available across HubSpot plans, but calling features and workflow automation vary by tier and by which Hubs you hold. Check your current HubSpot subscription for workflow availability before relying on call-triggered automation.
Do I need a separate HubSpot calling licence?
No. Calls place and receive through Salamtalk on your Salamtalk plan at $15, $25 or $40 per user per month. The integration writes activity into HubSpot rather than using HubSpot as the calling provider, so you are not paying twice for minutes.
Can I control which users and data are synced?
Yes. The integration is scoped per user, so you can roll it out to one team before extending it. Recording attachment and transcript writing can be disabled independently if your data-handling policy requires call audio to stay inside Salamtalk.
